Why Mars is worth colonizing?

Mars is the 4th planet from the sun. Its size is half the diameter of earth. The distance from the sun is about 230 million kilometers. It takes 687 earth days to make a complete orbit around the sun. A solar day is 24hours, 39 minutes and 35.244 seconds.

Earth is the only home for humans so far and it would be peril for mankind to have only one planet to stay because they could face extinction one day as with the dinasaurs were when a large asteriod crashed into earth thousands of years ago.

It is imperitive that us humans find another habitat to continue our existence in this space as earth could face doom due to climate change, exhausting resources and etc.

Mars is a clear winner as it is the nearest planet to earth and has an atmoshere although it is not hospitable, it is not as hot as Venus or Mercury. It is about -60 Degrees C. Nevertheless it can be terraformed. Initially we can establish fully sealed shelter with breathable air and temperature regulated modules which can be further expanded.

It has loads of water in glaciers and it has silicon, oxygen, iron, magnesium, aluminium, calcium and potassium in abundance. The less abundant elements are titanium, chromium, manganese, sulfur, phosphorus, sodium and chlorine. In addition, Mars has precious opal deposits too so far.
