We were hunting for a good old style British Fish and Chips shop and we picked Cor Blimey, Petaling Jaya as our first choice. We drove to our intended destination, parked our car in Starling Mall, and trotted over to Cor Blimey.
We strode into the shop, sat down, glanced through the menu and ordered. We chose the Signature British Fish and Chips. In picking the type of fish, we settled for Sea Bass after some discussion. For the batter, we chose Lemon herb. As for side A, we selected Creamy Mash and Side B, we preferred Minted Mushy Peas. For Add On, we decided on Tartar Sauce.
Next, we ordered Chicken and Mushroom Pie which includes Side A, we opted for Homemade, Thick-cut chips. As for Side B, we decided on Coleslaw.
Lastly, we ordered two glasses of Iced Lemonade. The Iced Lemonade came first. We drank the Lemonade to quench our thirst.
After waiting for some time, the food is served. They cooked every plate fresh-to-order, that was why the delay. And that’s alright with us, we want our food to be piping hot, haha.
The fish was fresh, flaky, tender, crunchy and slightly lemony. Superb taste. The Creamy Mash was rich, buttery and savoury. Minted Mushy Peas was earthy, starchy and has a refreshing minty taste.
Chou Che Che sampled the Chicken and Mushroom Pie and it was savoury, rich and earthy. Thick-cut chips were intensely potato and earthly flavour with a crispy exterior and a soft and fluffy inside.
Chou Che Che and Jo Pi Pi felt very full after the meal. They went out carrying their stomach...hahaha.
