Before heading to the Mall, we arrived to a unanimous decision to have an early lunch at the Ring Road Restaurant. This place is famous for its steam fish head dish. When we arrived at the restaurant, there were not many people eating in the shop. So we were early birds and ordered our food and drinks just before the crowds poured in.
We called for two types of fish head, one with ginger and the other one with garlic. The food came after a while. The fish head with ginger dish was covered with mashed cilantro, scallions and shredded ginger. The fish head with garlic dish was engulfed with shredded sweet salty preserve radish and fried bits and pieces of garlic with a generous serving of soya sauce. Both taste good but I prefer the fish head with garlic dish. The dishes needed to be complimented with side dish. So we had steamed ladies fingers sprinkled with fried garlic.
The fish heads were fresh, succulent and savoury. The ladies fingers was good and fresh.
It was a sumptuous lunch and cost about RM70.
